Term Assistant Professor, School of Public Policy
Simon Fraser University
Hello! I am a Term Assistant Professor in Simon Fraser University's School of Public Policy. I study how non-state actors shape health governance and policy processes at the global level and in Canada. Often, my work explores topics at the intersection of health and environmental issues. My research program aims to generate knowledge that can be used to strengthen practices and models of governance. I received my PhD in Political Science from the University of British Columbia in 2025.
My latest research program is on pandemic governance. This includes my dissertation research examining governance of the public-private partnership that led the global COVID-19 response. I am also part of a CIHR-funded project studying governance of COVID-19 testing and regulation of public space policy in four Canadian provinces. I teach courses on health policy, public policy, policy analysis, qualitative methods, and research methods for public policy research.
Previously, I completed a Master of Public Health from the University of Toronto (2018) and a Bachelor of Health Sciences with Honours from the University of Calgary (2014). I also previously held positions with the Public Health Agency of Canada, Aga Khan University - Karachi, World Health Organization, and a mental health nonprofit.
